      <image:title>About Vivian - Educators are innovators.</image:title>
<image:caption>Born in the Dominican Republic to her parents Manuel and Julia, Vivian moved to the United States at the age of 14. While living in New York City Vivian attended Bernard Baruch College, part of the City University of New York, receiving a Bachelors Degree in International Marketing and Spanish Literature. Vivian moved to Roanoke in 2002, along with her husband Thomas and her two children, Matthew and Cristina. Since arriving in the Roanoke Valley Vivian has been heavily involved as a community advocate first working with Commonwealth Catholic Charities as a School Liaison for immigrant children who would be attending schools in the Valley. After several years in that position she left to begin working with Roanoke City Public Schools as a Student Support Specialist, helping to ensure students are personally and academically successful. Since her time on Roanoke City Council she has been able to help pass a balanced budget which included pay raises for our first responders, as well as ensuring CARES Act funding was distributed across the City in ways that would help all of the residents. In addition to these budget measures, she has continued to advocate for residents across the City. Vivian is excited to be running for her seat on City Council and will continue to be an advocate for all! — Vivian Sanchez-Jones Member, Roanoke City Council</image:caption>
